We welcome admissions throughout the year, subject to availability.

Westminster co-ordinate all admissions to the Reception class at Wilberforce.

  • Reception Admissions are processed by the Local Authority.
  • In-Year Admissions (Year 1 to Year 6) are processed by both the Local Authority and our Admissions Team.
  • Nursery Applications (Ages 3 & 4) are managed directly by the school.
  • Overseas Applications are managed by the Local Authority.

School tours are held weekly.  Tours must be booked in advance.

Nursery Admissions

All 3 and 4-year-olds in England are entitled to 570 funded childcare hours per year, which is equivalent to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks of the year. Some children may also be eligible for 30 hours of funded childcare.

We accept children into our Nursery after their third birthday.

The nursery is made up of two different sessions: morning and full time.

The timings for these sessions are as follows:

Morning place (15hrs a week) - 8.50am – 11.50am

Full Time place (30hrs a week) - 8.50am – 3.20pm

Admissions take place throughout the year, subject to availability.

Reception Admissions

All applications for the Wilberforce Primary Reception Class are processed by the relevant local authority. If you live in Westminster, you should apply through the City of Westminster School Admissions Team. If you live in another borough, such as Brent, you must apply through your home local authority and include Wilberforce Primary School as one of your preferred schools. If you are applying from abroad, please apply through the City of Westminster School Admissions Team.

We welcome children from the local nursery schools, other settings or from home.
The transfer from our Nursery to Reception is not automatic.
Children who attend our Nursery are still required to apply for a Reception place at the school through the Local Authority.

Key Dates and Eligibility  

  • You can apply for a Reception place for September 2027 if your child was born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023.
  • Applications open on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
  • The deadline for on-time applications is midnight on Friday, 15 January 2027.
    Applications submitted after this date will be considered late.

All applications must be made via the eAdmissions portal.

Important Dates After Application

  • National Offer Day: 16 April 2027
    You will receive your offer for a primary school place if you submitted an on-time application.
  • Deadline to accept an offer: 30 April 2027.

How to respond to the offer

If you applied using a paper form, the offer letter from your local authority will explain how to respond.

If you applied online you must respond to the offer through the eAdmissions website. You'll need the username and password you used when you made your application. If you can't remember this information, you can use the 'Forgotten your username or password?' option.

Once you have logged in, go to the 'My school admissions' page then select 'View outcome and respond.' Please refer to the guidance document above, Apply for your child’s school place online at eAdmissions.org.uk.

Late applications

Late application can still be made for a Reception place on the eAdmission website which remains open until the middle of August 2027. After this date, applications can be made directly to our school if places are still available.

In-Year Admissions

An in-year admission is when your child joins a school during the school year.

You would normally be making an in-year application if you have recently moved into the area, you have arrived from overseas or you want to transfer your child from another school to ours.

The application are processed by both the Local Authority and our Admissions Team.

Appeals

Appeals for Admission to Reception

Parents whose application for a place is unsuccessful have the right to appeal the decision. This must be expressed in accordance with the school’s Admissions Criteria. Should you wish to appeal, please complete an appeal form on which you must list your reasons for making an appeal. Appeals should be addressed for the attention of the United Learning Governors and sent via email to admissions@wilberforceprimary.org.uk or via post to Wilberforce Primary School, Beethoven Street, W10 4LB London.
