Nursery

We are delighted that you have chosen Wilberforce Primary Nursery as the right place to start your child’s educational journey.

We know what an important decision this is for any parent to make and we are always privileged when a parent chooses us. We also know that you will have many questions and this website provides you with key information about life at Wilberforce Primary.

At Wilberforce, our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is formed of Nursery and Reception. Our Nursery offers free full time places to all children. Children can join our Nursery the term after they turn 3 years old.

Our EYFS unit comprises of dedicated rooms for both Nursery and Reception as well as their own semi covered outdoor area where they have access to outdoor independent learning. Children are able to access this area in all weathers and we are also lucky enough to have a grass space that children can access for bigger gross motor development.

Our curriculum in EYFS is carefully designed and sequenced using content from Development Matters and the EYFS Statutory Framework. We have planned an ambitious curriculum that teaches the children the skills and knowledge they will need to prepare them for Year 1.

We have designed our curriculum to ensure that children learn and are confident in the foundations of reading and maths as well as learning about the wider world around them. You can find out more about our curriculum here.

We love to show off our wonderful Nursery! If you would like to take a look around and see us in action, please contact our school office to book a tour on 020 8054 4100 or email admin@wilberforceprimary.org.uk.
