Welcome to Wilberforce Primary School!

We are part of United Learning, a family of schools across the country, with the shared aim to bring out ‘the best in everyone’. We are ambitious for all of our pupils and determined that every child, no matter their ability, will receive an excellent start to a life-long learning journey. We want every pupil to achieve their full potential during their time with us.

Situated in Queen’s Park, in the heart of North West London, we serve a diverse and vibrant community. Everyone at Wilberforce Primary is committed to making sure that children and their learning, wellbeing and safety are at the heart of all we do. I know I speak for all staff when I say that the most important thing for us is hearing children say that they really enjoy their time at our school.

We have designed a new, exciting and innovative curriculum for each year group. Proud of our London heritage, our lessons are designed to help children develop a rich knowledge and understanding of the capital city through visits and visitors. We also provide ample opportunities for our children to become active members of the local community – as eco-champions, musicians, sportsmen and women, fundraisers and even junior politicians!

Kindest regards,

Claire Macfie

We are on an exciting journey - one of transformation for this learning community. Fuelled by ambition and determination, the road ahead looks steep but the view from the top is wonderful!

The last couple of years at Wilberforce have been transformational and we are now judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features. The outlook for the future of this lovely school couldn’t be better for the families and children of Queen’s Park.

Working together with our sponsor, United Learning and in partnership with the teaching school alliance from Lambeth and Guildford, leaders and staff at the school are committed to maintaining a happy and safe provision for the community that all can be proud of.

We will gather fresh ideas along the way, but a relentless focus on excellence and an expectation that all can and will achieve drives our shared vision for success.

The belief that all learning is a journey, and one that is shared with families as key partners is translated into the classroom organisation of our school. Proud of the cultural heritage of London, learning opportunities are built into the curriculum to enable children to explore and experience all that this magnificent city has to offer.

Learning at Wilberforce is further enriched by many opportunities to participate in a wide range of sports, arts and student leadership activities as children progress through school. We are committed to ‘Education with Character’ and aim to develop each child so that they can contribute as well-rounded citizens, skilled and well prepared for a successful future.

It has been such a privilege to join this warm and caring team at Wilberforce and be a part of their journey. I'm so proud of how far we have 'travelled' and I'm excited about the new adventures to come!

Noelia Santos, EYFS Lead

Describing our school is not an easy task for to encapsulate the essence of our family, of the very heart of our school, is almost impossible. Wilberforce is a place of encouragement and support, of love and passion, of fun and laughter, of commitment and growth, of striving for the absolute best in everyone. It is truly a wonderful place to work but it is a real privilege and honour to be part of the family.

Kathryn Raney, English Lead and Year 6 Class Teacher

Knowing all of the hard work and determination that was put into the school from both the children and the adults, made finding out our Ofsted result a very rewarding and proud moment for all of us. We are all aware of what a happy and vibrant school Wilberforce has become and it was an absolute pleasure to know that our ethos and school culture is felt by those that visit too.

Annabelle Clarke, Foundation Subjects Lead and Year 5 Class Teacher
