Rt Hon Damian Hinds MP, Secretary of State for Education visited two United Learning academies today – Wilberforce Primary and Paddington Academy – to meet pupils and staff and celebrate World Book Day.
During half-term it was the Chinese New Year. We enjoyed learning about this at school and making lanterns. We also had a go at some Chinese Writing.
Year 5 went to the Jubilee Sports Centre to take part in an Athletics competition.
In Year 1 we like to use lots of different resources when we are learning.
For our topic ‘Street Detectives’ we took part in a Mini Mappers workshop.
The London Fire Brigade visited Year 2 to teach us how to prevent fires in our homes and how to keep ourselves safe in the event of a fire.
Year 2's Topic 'Land Ahoy!' began with an inspiration day at the National Maritime Museum where, dressed as pirates.
During the Spring term, Year Six spent a week with a highly enthusiastic team from the charity ‘IntoUniversity’ (who tackle social and economic extremes by providing innovative programmes to support, encourage and inspire young people) to study the work of William Shakespeare.
Perform came in on 18th January to run an ‘Outer Space’ workshop with reception. We had been learning about Space as part of our topic the previous term.
Following our visit from the RSPB, Year 1 went to Queen's Park Gardens to investigate animals and trees.
